About Coach Omar Contreras

Coach Omar Contreras is an experienced coach who has worked with a wide range of players and teams. He’s developed an understanding of the game and a strong ability to assess and improve players' skills, technique, and overall performance.

Omar is from Northern Virginia where he played and captained the varsity soccer team. After graduating, Omar enlisted in the Marine Corps and served 4 years until returning home. While working full-time Omar found himself wanting to do more and picked up part-time jobs coaching around the area. His part-time job turned into a full-time passion as he began to coach at Villarreal Virginia Academy and launched his own personal training program.

As an experienced coach, with over 8 years of field coaching experience, Omar has developed a keen eye for identifying and nurturing talent in young players. Coach Omar currently holds his C license and has over 2 years of exposure to European coaches education. He’s honed his ability to teach players of all ages and levels technical skills and tactics to players of all ages and levels. Passionate about instilling a love of the game in players, while also challenging them to reach their full potential and achieve their goals on and off the field. As a coach, Omar strives to foster a positive and inclusive culture, where players feel valued and supported in their development as both a soccer player and a person.
